Jolene Thompson has been with AMP since 1990 and currently serves as senior vice president of member services and external affairs. She also serves as the executive director of the Ohio Municipal Electric Association (OMEA), the legislative liaison to AMP and Ohio’s municipal electric systems.

Thompson, active nationally, currently serves as chair of the American Public Power Association (APPA) Legislative and Resolutions Committee and is a member of the Transmission Access Policy Study Group, Consumer Federation of America and Power PAC Boards of Directors. She previously served as chair of the APPA Advisory Committee and as a member of the APPA Board of Directors and Executive Committee. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from Otterbein College.

Thompson is the lead on permitting, regulatory and public relations efforts for AMP generation projects.

As senior vice president of member services and external affairs, Thompson provides oversight to AMP's energy policy and sustainability, government affairs, technical services, environmental compliance, energy efficiency, key accounts/business development, communications, and human resources and safety services.
