Scott Barta has been recognized as the American Municipal Power, Inc. (AMP) 2023 DNA Award recipient. Barta is assistant vice president of hydroelectric operations and has been with the organization since 1990.

American Municipal Power, Inc. (AMP) is pleased to announce that Drew D. Dunagin, CPA, has joined AMP as senior vice president of finance and chief financial officer (CFO). Dunagin will replace Marcy Steckman, who joined AMP in 2013 and has served as senior vice president of finance and CFO since July 2016. She will be retiring in early 2023. Steckman will continue in an advisory role for AMP for a period of time post retirement to support the transition.

The Ohio Municipal Electric Association (OMEA) recently held elections for the organization’s Board of Directors and Board leadership during the annual OMEA General Membership meeting, which took place in Columbus on Sept. 28.

Kyle Francis is the 2022 recipient of the AMP Seven Hats Award. The award was presented to Kyle Francis during the 2022 AMP Annual Conference, which took place Sept. 26-28 in Columbus.

The Ohio Municipal Electric Association (OMEA) presented State Rep. Jim Hoops (R-Napoleon) with the George V. Voinovich Award on Aug. 24. The award was established by the OMEA Board of Directors to recognize state and federal lawmakers from Ohio who make contributions with a significant positive impact on public power systems.

American Municipal Power, Inc. (AMP) has named Tony Phan the honoree of the 2022 AMP Employee Innovator Award. Phan is the senior systems administrator of SCADA and has been with the organization since 2005.

(AMP) is pleased to announce that six AMP employees have been recognized by Public Utilities Fortnightly on their 2022 Under Forties list as utility industry rising stars. Each year, Public Utilities Fortnightly recognizes rising stars in the utilities industry. This year, the magazine honored 80 people from 29 utilities, utility regulatory commissions and other industry organizations.

The award recognizes individuals for their service to the APPA.

The City of Hamilton and the Hamilton Department of Infrastructure, an Ohio public power utility serving about 29,400 customers and an American Municipal Power, Inc. (AMP) Board of Trustees member, received the American Public Power Association’s (APPA) E.F. Scattergood System Achievement Award. The City of Hamilton was presented with the prestigious award on June 14 during the APPA National Conference in Nashville.
