AMP Transmission (AMPT) has filed an application to the Ohio Power Siting Board to construct the Amherst Second Source Reinforcement Project in Lorain County.
Project Details
AMPT proposes to expand the Woodings Substation as a part of the Amherst Second Source Reinforcement Project (Project) in Amherst, Lorain County, Ohio. The Project includes the expansion of the existing Amherst #2 69 kilovolt (kV) Substation, which will be renamed Woodings Substation. The Woodings Substation will be equipped with a 138/69/12 kV transformer, three 138 kV circuit breakers arranged in a ring configuration, and four 69 kV circuit breakers. A new 0.4-mile 138 kV transmission line will be constructed to tie the proposed Woodings Substation to the existing American Transmission Systems, Inc. (ATSI) Beaver – Black River 138 kV Transmission Line. The figure below shows the general location and layout of the new transmission line and expanded substation facility.
