Pioneer Phase I Reinforcement Project

AMP Transmission (AMPT) is constructing the Pioneer Phase I Reinforcement Project to improve reliability for the customers in the Village of Pioneer and surrounding areas.

Project Details

The Pioneer Phase I Reinforcement Project involves the construction of a new 69/12-kilovolt (kV) Kexon Substation located on the north end of the Village and the addition of a new 69-kV transmission line (approximately 2 miles) between the Kexon Substation and the existing AMPT 69-kV transmission line located along U.S. Highway 20.

Project Construction

Construction started in the fall of 2024 and will conclude in the summer of 2025.
