COLUMBUS: American Municipal Power Inc. (AMP) has announced the promotion of Randell Corbin to Assistant Vice President for Energy Policy & Sustainability. In this position, Corbin will oversee energy policy development, various sustainability programs, business development services; and will be working on the launch of AMP’s new energy efficiency program.
“AMP has seen tremendous growth in recent years and we are managing a number of large projects and programs,” said AMP Sr. Vice President of Member Services and External Affairs Jolene Thompson. “The energy efficiency program being launched by AMP, working closely with the Vermont Energy Investment Corporation, will be an innovative and significant undertaking. With more than 30 years experience in the electric industry, Randy is a valuable asset to the organization, and his expertise benefits all of our member utilities.”
Corbin began his career with AMP in March 2007 as director of regulatory policy. Corbin’s experience was acquired at three investor-owned utilities, the Ohio Consumers’ Counsel, the Illinois Commerce Commission and as a residential advocate. Mr. Corbin possesses a MA in Economics from the University of Illinois and a BS in Accounting from Eastern Illinois University.
American Municipal Power Inc. is the wholesale power supplier and services provider for 128 member municipal electric systems in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Virginia, Kentucky and West Virginia. The organization operates and maintains a number of generation assets that include coal, hydroelectric, wind, natural gas and diesel units and is currently developing new generation assets on behalf of it members. This effort includes the largest deployment of new run-of-the-river hydroelectric generation in the country. In addition the organization provides a variety of related services to its members, including safety programs, technical services, financial programs, legislative, regulatory and legal representation as well as community outreach programs.
