COLUMBUS, OH: American Municipal Power, Inc. (AMP) is pleased to announce that William Sandell joined its management staff on Jan. 23, 2017, as vice president of generation development and optimization. In this position, he will be responsible for the management and oversight of generation project development and the optimization of AMP generation resources to the benefit of the organization’s members.
Sandell has more than 15 years of experience in the power and energy industries. He previously served as project manager and consultant for IEM Energy Consulting Inc., as a plant manager for Tri-State Generation and Transmission, and held senior-level positions with Leidos and Pic Group.
Sandell holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from San Diego State University and is certified in a number of mechanical systems and maintenance programs.
“William has extensive project management and mechanical engineering experience,” said AMP Executive Vice President of Power Supply and Operations Pamala Sullivan. “During his tenure at Leidos, he was involved in the commissioning of the AMP Fremont Combined Cycle Plant. We are confident his skills and background align with the requirements of this role and that he will be a valuable addition to the AMP Generation team.”
