COLUMBUS, OH: Keith Brooks was honored at the 2018 AMP Wall of Fame ceremony on
April 18.
Brooks served as the Ohio Municipal Electric Association’s (OMEA) legislative counsel and represented Ohio municipal electric communities before state policymakers and industry stakeholders for more than 30 years until his retirement at the end of 2016. He was engaged in numerous legislative battles before the Ohio General Assembly, including historic energy-related legislation, numerous state budget bills and countless other legislation.
“Many of the legislative successes the AMP and OMEA have enjoyed can be traced back to the counsel and advocacy of Keith Brooks,” said AMP President and CEO Marc Gerken. “It is not an overstatement to say that his leadership and strategic guidance helped establish public power’s presence at the Ohio Statehouse.”
AMP established the Wall of Fame program in 2010 to honor individuals who have made significant contributions to AMP, the OMEA and to public power in member communities. Brooks joins 22 other Wall of Fame inductees.
Brooks was the sole inductee this year and a number of previous inductees were present to recognize his accomplishments.
