COLUMBUS, OH: American Municipal Power, Inc. (AMP) is pleased to announce that Ganesh Velummylum has joined AMP as vice president of transmission planning and development.
In this role, Velummylum will oversee transmission planning and project development; assure compliance with all relevant North American Electric Reliability Corporation Reliability Standards, Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and PJM Interconnection’s tariffs, rules and regulations; and provide executive oversight and strategic planning for AMP Transmission, LLC (AMPT).
Velummylum brings 20 years of experience in transmission and resource planning to the role. Prior to joining AMP, Velummylum served as vice president of transmission planning for BrightNight Power, where he oversaw the transmission planning process and created a strategic asset development process aligning commercial, development, origination and transmission team review processes. He has held positions with AES Corporation, Western Electricity Coordinating Council, North American Electric Reliability Corporation, Northern Indiana Public Service Company, Lakeland Electric and PJM Interconnection, LLC.

Velummylum holds a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Oklahoma State University.
