Matt Garrison Joins AMP as Vice President of Accounting

COLUMBUS, OH: American Municipal Power, Inc. (AMP) is pleased to announce that Matt Garrison has joined AMP as Vice President of Accounting.

Garrison has more than 25 years of experience in accounting, including 18 years with Mettler-Toledo International, Inc., a multinational corporation that produces precision instruments and services. There, he held several positions, including Consolidation Manager, Operations Controller, Accounting Manager and, most recently, Head of Record to Report Services, North America. He oversaw all general accounting activities for North American business units, maintained a strong internal control environment, and coached and led a professional accounting team.

“Matt brings with him many valuable skills that he has obtained throughout his career, and I look forward to his leadership in strengthening our financial operations and maintaining exceptional standards in our accounting practices,” said Drew Dunagin, Senior Vice President of Finance and CFO. “His experience in management positions and breadth of accounting knowledge will serve AMP and its Members well.”

In this role, Garrison will report to Dunagin and will oversee AMP’s accounting function and all accounting records; set strategy and direction for the accounting team and interactions with support functions. He will also oversee financial reporting, internal controls monitoring, data governance and financial reporting governance, and accounts payable.

Garrison holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in accounting from Ohio Wesleyan University.
