Kyle Andrew Krieger Memorial Scholarship Program

Background on Scholarship

Kyle Andrew Krieger, who graduated from The Ohio State University in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, was filled with a passion for learning and academic excellence. During his time at Ohio State, he worked at American Municipal Power, Inc., as an intern in the Generation Operations Department during the summer of 2014. In that role, he worked cooperatively with AMP contractors during the construction of a hydroelectric plant on the Ohio River at the Willow Island Locks and Dam.

Following his graduation, Kyle joined Turner Construction Company as a field engineer and was later promoted to superintendent. He held that role until his death in 2024 following a valiant battle with cancer. Kyle loved his work and his Turner Construction family so much so that he continued to work through all of his treatments. One of the most notable projects that he worked on during his time at Turner Construction was the construction of the National Veterans Memorial and Museum in Columbus, a project in which he took great pride.

Coming from a public power family, Kyle always demonstrated strong support for public power. His father is Ed Krieger, Assistant Administrator for the Columbus Division of Power, former Director of the Piqua Power System, and a former member of the AMP Board of Trustees; and his stepmother is Pam Sullivan, AMP Chief Operating Officer and President of AMP Transmission. Both Ed and Pam have dedicated their careers to the industry and contributed a great deal to public power.
